It took two weeks to get the problem solved. 
She was also frustrated and embarrassed when she used a self-service checkout machine at the supermarket.

Early humans didn’t know how to keep food but now there are many ways to keep food fresh/eatable/edible.
Early hunters kept meat in cool or dried to keep it for a long time without knowing what bacteria do to their food.
Farmers found various ways to keep meat and vegetables fresh by using salt, oil, vinegar, or smoking.
New ways of preserving foods have been developed since the 19th century, such as canning, boiling and sealing, refrigerating or freezing.

Now there are a whole variety of foods that are kept fresh to eat.

UK's Plastic Waste-AK-Sr.3-Apr.14

(3) What could be thought as an intelligent waste strategy? Write some ideas in three sentences.
   To reduce or replace the use of plastic bags, covers, and bottles with other environmentally friendlier biodegradable materials such as paper or plant-based cloth by charging a penalty or giving incentives.
  Also, educating people, especially children, improves awareness of the waste problems.
 When people know how important it is to reduce plastic waste, they become more conscious of the environment and try harder to reduce plastic waste.
